GANDERBAL — Two non-local labourers sustained critical injuries after militants fired upon them in the Gagangeer area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday evening, police said.

A top police officer said that the militants opened fire on the two labourers who were working on a tunnel project.

The victims, he said, were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, security forces swiftly responded to the incident, cordoning off the area as they launched an operation to locate the attackers.
