PULWAMA — A review meeting was held in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district over the digitization of Jamabandies in the southern district.

In the meeting chaired by Director Land Records, it was impressed upon the participating Revenue officers to speed up the digitization process.

As per reports reaching us, the deadline to complete the process in the district is September 15, so that all Revenue records are made available online for the benefit of the people as well as to bring transparency within the system.

Pertinently, the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) was formally launched in UT in April 2016 for improving online accessibility to the Land Records System and stopping manipulation of the Land Records thereby making the quality of services in Sub Registrar offices/Tehsils more efficient and transparent.

The programme aims to modernize the management of land records, enhance transparency in the land records maintenance system, thus reducing the scope of land/property disputes, and facilitate conclusive titles to immovable properties in the country.
