SRINAGAR — As the aspirants for Finance Account Assistant (FAA) continued their protest on the fifth consecutive day against scrapping the selection process, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday said that the list is being inquired by a committee headed by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department.

A top official, according to news agency KNS, said that action will be taken based on the report of the inquiry committee. He said that if no irregularities are found, the process will be taken up further and if irregularities are found, strict action will be taken.

The development comes when dozens of candidates, who have qualified for the examination for the post of Finance Account Assistant (FAA), have been holding protests in Srinagar for the last five days after reports of scrapping of the selection list surfaced.

The candidates said they had been preparing for more than two years before appearing in the examination and that their careers were at stake if government scraps the selection list.
