Five killed, 25 injured in bus accident in Rajouri

RAJOURI — Five people were killed and around 25 others injured on Thursday after a bus met with an accident in Rajouri district.

As per reports, the bus (JK02CD-9156) was on its way to Jammu from Surankote Poonch and met with the accident near Deri Ralyot in Charkote Manjakote area of the mountainous district this afternoon.

Hundreds of people joined the rescue and the police and other security agencies also joined the efforts.

The Office of Lieutenant Governor (LG) Jammu and Kashmir took to Twitter to express grief over the accident. “Anguished by the loss of lives due to a tragic accident in Rajouri. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest. The district administration is providing all possible assistance,” the office of LG tweeted.

This comes just a day after 11 persons were killed and 27 others injured in a road accident in Mandi tehsil of adjacent Poonch district.
