SRINAGAR — Scores of disengaged Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Helpers to Supervisors on Monday staged a massive protest in Srinagar, demanding revocation of the disengagement order.

The disengaged Helpers to Supervisors appeared at the Press Enclave Srinagar and raised slogans against the order like “we want justice, revoke the order.”

The protestors said they are working in the department from last more than 20 years and were performing multiple tasks from election duty to vaccination, adding that for the last three years, they were without salaries.

The protesting Helpers said that they were disengaged without any notice or consideration. “We are used like tissue papers. This use-and-throw policy has financially destroyed scores of families.”

The protestors demanded immediate revocation of the order.

Pertinently, last year, the government disengaged 918 Helpers to Supervisors in the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme of Social Welfare Department.
