SRINAGAR — A 24-year-old youth on Thursday allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Keegam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district. As per an official quoted by the news agency CNS, the youth (name withheld) was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. He said that after the completion of medical and legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites.

SRINAGAR — An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale jolted Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. As per the initial reports, the temblor struck at 10:27 PM and the epicentre was in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region.
