28-year-old youth found dead by apparent suicide in Pulwama

PULWAMA — A tragic incident unfolded in Puchhal area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday as a 28-year-old youth was found hanging inside his room.

According to official sources, the deceased, who was identified as a resident of Puchhal in Pulwama, was found hanging in his home. Family members immediately rushed him to the District Hospital Pulwama, but medical personnel declared him deceased upon arrival.

The sources revealed that the young man had been battling depression for several days, following his failure to pass the Junior Engineer (JE) examination recently.

In response to the incident, authorities have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC), launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

The community has been deeply affected by the loss, emphasizing the urgency of addressing mental health issues among youth and the need for greater support systems in such challenging times.
